Community Commitment

Supporting disaster relief

For 20 years now, Convoy of Hope has had the privilege of responding to disasters all over the world, and for 20 years now, Bass Pro Shops has been one of our leading partners.
Jeff Nene, Convoy of Hope

When disaster strikes the communities we serve, we step up to give first responders and relief organizations the resources they need to save lives and restore hope.

Supporting healthcare heroes

In the wake of the COVID 19 pandemic, Johnny Morris personally donated one million face masks to healthcare workers and first responders nationwide, helping provide critically needed personal protective equipment for those working on the front lines of the COVID-19 crisis. The donation provided thousands of hard-to-find masks to every local community with a Bass Pro Shops or Cabela’s store, boat center, distribution center and White River Marine Group manufacturing facility – more than 200 communities in total.

Uniting Anglers for Relief and Holiday Cheer

After Hurricane Dorian devastated the Bahamas, we united anglers to raise millions for relief efforts and bring the magic of Christmas to thousands of kids and families. In response, Johnny Morris partnered with Convoy of Hope to unite more than 1.1 million anglers and raise in excess of $4 million for ongoing relief efforts through the Anglers for the Bahamas campaign.

To deliver much-needed Christmas cheer, Johnny hosted a magical Christmas wonderland unlike anything the islands have ever seen. The free four-day holiday festival hosted 20,000 Bahamian children and their families, delivering a huge dose of much needed cheer during the Christmas season.

Stepping up for Hurricane Relief

When hurricanes strike, we come together to help rescue, recover and restore. Bass Pro Shops is proud to be a longtime partner with Convoy of Hope, a global leader in humanitarian relief efforts based in our hometown of Springfield, Missouri, and local officials to help provide on-the-ground support where it counts.

For example, In 2017, Hurricane Harvey ravaged Houston. In response to widespread flooding, we dispatched more than 125 TRACKER Boats to The Texas National Guard, leading to more than 18,000 water rescues. Working with Convoy of Hope, we also distributed truckloads of relief supplies including protein-rich foods like jerky and peanuts totaling more than $40,000.

Restoring Communities after Wildfires

We work on the ground to mobilize communities and make a positive difference. After severe wildfires ravaged British Columbia, Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World in Vancouver immediately mobilized in a local grassroots campaign with support from customers to round up their purchase, raising funds for the Canadian Red Cross and its wildfire relief efforts. Bass Pro Shops locations across Tennessee joined relief efforts after devastating forest fires destroyed 16,000 acres and 2,000 homes and buildings in and around Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Collectively, the stores raised nearly $20,000 for relief efforts coordinated by Friends of the Smokies and the Dollywood Foundation.

Faced with thousands of residents stranded in their homes, Texas Governor Greg Abbott called Johnny Morris to request assistance with search and rescue efforts. Johnny’s response: "Whatever you need, whatever it takes."
