Standing up for Sportsman’s Rights

Advocating for everyone who loves the outdoors

We’re giving a voice to sportsmen and women and working to expand outdoor recreational access, protect our outdoor heritage, and advance polices that will create a bright future for wildlife and everyone who enjoys it.

We Stand Together for You

Recovering America’s Wildlife

Our founder Johnny Morris co-chaired the Blue-Ribbon Panel on Sustaining America’s Fish and Wildlife Resources, a group of national business and conservation leaders, convened to recommend a new mechanism to sustainably fund fish and wildlife conservation. The result was the Recovering America’s Wildlife Act, the most significant investment in wildlife and habitat restoration in a generation, a $1.4 billion bill for proactive, voluntary efforts to prevent vulnerable wildlife from being endangered.

Expanding Recreational Saltwater Fishing

Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s proudly partnered with other recreational fishing advocates and conservation partners to raise awareness and build support for the Modern Fish Act, the most significant update to America’s saltwater fishing regulations in more than 40 years. It originated from recommendations made by a commission co-chaired by Johnny Morris, and improved recreational saltwater fishing by expanding access to America’s federal waters while ensuring the conservation of our natural marine resources.

Building Coalitions to Save Bristol Bay

While we agree with fellow sportsman and conservationist President Theodore Roosevelt that there is a role for responsible utilization of our nation’s natural resources, some places are so special they simply must be protected. The Wild Salmon Center is fighting to protect critical salmon habitat on Bristol Bay in Alaska where a proposed mining operation would cause permanent harm to the world’s largest wild sockeye salmon fishery. In 2019, Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s support the Center’s efforts and called on millions of sportsmen and women to stand together in support of this beloved and vulnerable region.

There can be no greater issue than that of conservation in this country.
President Theodore Roosevelt
