Local engagement

Giving back to our communities

We’re proud of the communities we call home and work with thousands of local partners to make them stronger. From our early small town roots to our growing role as community leaders across North America, we have never forgotten the power of partnerships and responsibility to our friends and neighbors for making our community safer, healthier and stronger.

Outdoor Days

What happens when you don’t have easy access to outdoor activities? We bring the outdoors to you. For over a decade, Bass Pro Shops Outdoor Days events have provided free nature-based learning experiences through hands-on activities for all ages. People from all backgrounds and skill levels can try their hand at outdoor recreational activities including kayaking, fishing, rock climbing and more. Each year, over 300,000 kids participate in these free events held across America, including youngsters who would otherwise not be exposed to the natural wonders of the wild.

Bass Pro Shops Fitness Series

The Bass Pro Shops Fitness Series promotes the health and wellbeing of our community and all participants. Hosting thousands of competitors throughout its annual lineup of races and runs, the series celebrates community health, outdoor adventures and conservation in the spectacular natural beauty of the Ozarks. Offering everything from 100k bike races and 5k runs to the signature Bass Pro Shops Conservation Marathon, there’s an event for athletes at all levels and abilities. More than 1,000 volunteers bring the events to life each year including Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s Outfitters, with proceeds benefiting local Ozarks nonprofit organizations. Volunteering

Each year, our Outfitters spend countless hours volunteering in their communities and giving back through stream clean-ups, resurfacing trails, youth mentorship and more. We’re proud to be a founding member of the United Way Day of Caring, the single largest community-wide volunteer event in southwest Missouri, with more than 2,000 volunteers representing nearly 150 local organizations keeping our Ozarks beautiful.

Bass Pro Shops has consistently been one of our strongest partners. From providing funding to serving on our board to putting volunteer boots on the ground, we simply could not do what we do without their support.
