Bass Pro Shops at the Pyramid to host fifth annual FLOCKTOBERFEST event for families and outdoors enthusiasts

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – FLOCKTOBERFEST, the world’s greatest hunting expo and sale, is returning to Bass Pro Shops at the Pyramid in downtown Memphis starting Thursday, October 3. Thousands are expected to attend the 10-day celebration featuring the National and Regional Duck Calling Championships, Super Retriever Series, free live concerts and the new FLOCKTOBERFEST Cornhole Tournament.

Starting Thursday, October 3 through Sunday, October 13, FLOCKTOBERFEST provides guests access to dozens of free seminars and demonstrations by the top names in hunting and waterfowling, special exhibits, celebrity appearances and a variety of activities for all ages and skill levels. The expo features several fan favorite events including the fifth annual Big Cypress National Duck Calling Championship welcoming competitors from across the country; special appearances by Justin Martin from Duck Commander and the Super Retriever Series dog jumping competition. The festival atmosphere also offers local food, drinks and entertainment.

Waterfowl and hunting events

FLOCKTOBERFEST provides insights on hunting, waterfowl and outdoor activities from some of the biggest names in the industry. Key activities include:

  • The biggest sale of waterfowl and hunting gear with great deals on the latest name-brand hunting and waterfowl gear: October 3-13
  • Ducks Unlimited Regional and Big Cypress Lodge National Duck Calling Championship with expert callers from across the country competing for the largest prize pool ever offered: October 12
  • Premium seminars, classes and demonstrations featuring outdoors celebrities, pro hunters and world-renowned wildlife experts: October 12-13

New cornhole tournament in 2019

New to the event this year is the 2019 FLOCKTOBERFEST Cornhole Tournament October 12 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This exciting competition features a two-person team; single elimination format and is limited to 50 teams. Grand prize winner will receive a competition Cornhole game set, $500 cash, a one-night stay at Big Cypress Lodge and bowling for two at Uncle Buck’s Fish Bowl. Second place winner will receive a $200 Bass Pro Shops gift card and third place will receive a $100 Bass Pro Shops gift card. Free concerts

FLOCKTOBERFEST delivers free live music inside the Pyramid on Saturday, October 12. The Grassfire Bluegrass Band kicks things off from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Rebel Engine recording artist, Stephanie Quayle, will perform from 2 to 3 p.m. Finally, The River Bluff Clan will entertain visitors from 3:30 to 7 p.m.

Fun for everyone

Special activities for the whole family are planned Saturday, October 12 and Sunday, October 13. Highlights include:

  • Special appearance by Duck Commander’s Justin Martin: October 12
  • Super Retriever Series brings the top sporting dogs in the world to compete in pool diving competitions: October 12 and 13
  • Kids Outdoor Day with free activities and events including a catch-and-release pond, BB gun range and archery range: October 13

The nation’s waterfowl capital
