Bass Pro Shops helps Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation raise funds with August round up campaign

Bass Pro Shops is providing customers a chance to support the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation (RMEF) throughout August. Thanks to a round up campaign at all Bass Pro Shops locations across the U.S., customers are invited to donate their change to help RMEF’s mission of conserving elk country and educating the public on the value of hunting.

Customer round up donations will support RMEF’s conservation efforts across North America. RMEF will receive 100 percent of the money customers donate at the cash register, and Bass Pro Shops will make a contribution at the end of the month, matching 50 percent of the donated total.

“With support from Bass Pro Shops, our ability to positively impact the future of elk habitats has reached new heights,” said David Allen, CEO of RMEF. “We recently eclipsed more than seven million acres of land conserved or enhanced thanks to the conservation commitment exhibited by Bass Pro Shops. That’s just one of the many examples of Bass Pro Shops prioritizing the future of conservation. We are incredibly grateful for their partnership.”

Since 2000, Bass Pro Shops has supported essential RMEF initiatives including:

  • Increasing awareness and educating the public on the value of hunting and hunting heritage, and engaging youth and women in shooting skills, firearms safety and target competitions through its Hunting Heritage Program.
  • Improving public access as part of the Access Elk Country Initiative.
  • Increasing elk population in the eastern United States through the Eastern Elk Initiative.
  • Protecting critical elk range, migration corridors and key landscape connectivity areas while enhancing elk habitat through the Managed Lands Initiative.

Johnny Morris has made giving back to conservation a hallmark of Bass Pro Shops since he first began selling fishing tackle in the back of his dad’s liquor store in 1972. Over the course of several decades, Morris has dedicated himself to inspiring everyone, especially youth and families, to enjoy, love and conserve the great outdoors. One way that Bass Pro Shops works on behalf of conservation is by supporting the efforts of nonprofit conservation organizations that share a desire to tackle key conservation initiatives such as fish and wildlife habitat improvements, conservation and outdoor skills education, improving the quality of our lakes, rivers and springs, and conservation advocacy.
