SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – In the wake of devastating wildfires in Gatlinburg, Tenn. and surrounding sections of the Great Smoky Mountains, Bass Pro Shops is joining in the effort to aid those impacted.
Bass Pro Shops locations in proximity to the wildfires – in Bristol, East Ridge, Nashville and Sevierville, Tenn. – are partnering with regional organizations to contribute funds to the restorative efforts through a roundup program. Customers visiting Santa’s Wonderland at these four Bass Pro Shops locations have the option to round up their purchase total to benefit the relief efforts put forth by the Dollywood Foundation and Friends of the Smokies.
The Dollywood Foundation, founded by country music legend Dolly Parton, has committed to provide $1,000 per month to each family affected by the fire until their lives are restored as part of its recently established “My People Fund.”
Friends of the Smokies, an organization founded in 1993, is putting 100 percent of donations toward the most urgent needs of Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
By donating to these organizations, customers will help provide:
- Emergency food, supplies and water to survivors
- Long-term help and hope to families in the greater Gatlinburg area
Bass Pro Shops plays an active role in the communities it serves including partnering with local conservation organizations, assisting in disaster relief efforts and supporting our military and veterans.
