Bass Pro Shops’ new Family Health Center to offer high-quality health care for Ozarks-area Outfitters and their families

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Bass Pro Shops founder Johnny Morris announced today the opening of the new Bass Pro Shops Family Health Center, giving Outfitters in the Ozarks and their families convenient, high-quality health care solutions at a great value.

Unveiled with an official ribbon cutting ceremony, the new Health Center is one of the most state-of-the-art employee health care facilities in America and is located on East Kearney Street, across from the company’s national headquarters campus referred to as Base Camp.

Inspired by Johnny’s visits to both Toyota and Swarovski Optik’s headquarters, the new Family Health Center will offer services that include primary care, preventive exams, allergy and flu shots, treatment of acute and chronic conditions, women’s health and wellness coaching, covering all Ozarks-area Outfitters who work for Bass Pro Shops, and their dependents ages 2 and older who are covered by a Bass Pro Shops medical plan. That includes team members at our professional headquarters, Bass Pro Shops retail locations, Wonders of Wildlife National Museum & Aquarium, White River Marine Group boat plants and Big Cedar Lodge.

“This facility will provide a meaningful benefit to our Outfitters and their families throughout the Ozarks, and over time we expect this will benefit our team of the World’s Foremost Outfitters across the country,” Johnny said. “The Family Health Center will give them some peace of mind, with the most convenient health care possible, in a world-class facility for many years to come.”

Staffed by full-time doctors, registered nurses and a pharmacist, the facility is equipped with a drive-up pharmacy for prescription needs and offers over-the-counter medicine at highly discounted prices. Bass Pro Shops Outfitters will also be able to purchase natural products including vitamins and other supplements made available by Nature’s Wonders, another Ozarks-based company, conveniently located at the Health Center.

The Medical Director for the Family Health Center is Dr. Vincent Tichenor, M.D., who has a history in the area and a long, decorated history as a physician.

Dr. Tichenor grew up near Cassville, graduated from Southwest Baptist University and Saint Louis University School of Medicine and served his country in the Air Force and with the special forces. He has spent the last two years practicing medicine at CoxHealth’s Urgent Care, and lives just north of Branson, with his wife and two children.

Additionally, there is Virtual Primary Care available 24 hours/day and 7 days/week, where patients can access a primary care provider, by phone or video, for a variety of needs, including preventive care, short-term illness, condition and medication management, mental health and women’s health.

Bass Pro Shops is partnering with Premise Health – the leading health care provider that runs more than 800 wellness centers in 45 states and Guam – in operating the Family Health Center. Premise Health’s reputation as best-in-class has been earned by operating centers for some of the largest commercial and municipal employers.

The Family Health Center is the latest development in the company’s unwavering commitment to the people and culture who lie at the heart of Bass Pro Shops. With the addition of this new Health Center, Bass Pro Shops adds to its numerous campus amenities, including a full-service cafeteria, a gym and workout area, indoor and outdoor walking paths and much more. Investments in its team of Outfitters have led to Bass Pro Shops being named by Forbes as one of America’s Best Employers for three consecutive years.
