Bass Pro Shops Opens New Angler’s Lodge in the Ozark Mountain Region

New Lodge provides convenient accommodations for guests to enjoy nearby world-class golf courses and outdoor attractions

Hollister, Missouri – Bass Pro Shops and Big Cedar Lodge today celebrated the grand opening of the new Angler’s Lodge in Hollister, Missouri, part of the wilderness resort’s ongoing commitment to offer even more lodging options to those hoping to connect to the great outdoors. The 94-room lodge provides guest access to nearby world-class golf courses and other outdoor attractions, including newly opened Payne’s Valley – the first public access course design by Tiger Woods and his design firm, TGR Design.

“We’re thankful for our founder, Johnny Morris and his continued vision to expand the Big Cedar Lodge experience,” said President of Bass Pro Shops Hospitality, Debbie Bennett. “We are pleased to be a part of the Hollister community and look forward to connecting even more guests to the natural beauty of Missouri’s Ozark mountains through their stay at Angler’s Lodge.”

Angler’s Lodge also announced a new delicious dining option coming to the Ozarks. Tall Tales, opening this Spring, will be just footsteps away from the entrance of the Lodge. The full-service restaurant will offer an over-the-top sports bar theme while serving up a taste of the Ozarks with plenty of fun to be had even off the golf course. Open to the public, guests will be able to enjoy delicious cuisine, arcade games, billiards, a golf simulator and multiple large-screen TV’s.

Tall Tales is located just foot steps away from the front door at Angler’s Lodge and is open to the public.

Angler’s Lodge formerly operated as La Quinta Inn before joining the Bass Pro Shops hospitality family in late 2020. The entire building, from the exterior to the rooms to the lobby, was taken down to the studs and reimagined with trademark Bass Pro Shops touches and the signature attention to detail that Johnny Morris is known for. Guests of the lodge will have access to onsite amenities including: indoor pool and hot tub, meeting rooms, complimentary breakfast, shuttle service to Big Cedar golf courses, pet friendly rooms, a fitness center and much more.

The Buffalo Ridge Cottages are expected to open Memorial Day Weekend.

Golf-friendly cottages – coming soon

Angler’s Lodge will soon be joined by even more golf-friendly accommodations by Memorial Day weekend. The Cottages at Buffalo Ridge will be located on the ridge of the Mountain Top clubhouse and provide sweeping views of the Ozark mountains overlooking Payne’s Valley. The cottages, currently taking reservations, will feature stone fireplaces, private bedroom patios, full kitchens and more.

The convenient locations of Angler’s Lodge and the new cottages provide easy access to other stand-out attractions and amenities: the “Best New Public Course” as designated by Golf Digest, Ozarks National (Coore & Crenshaw), “Best Course You Can Play in Missouri” as designated by Golfweek 2019 rankings, Buffalo Ridge (Tom Fazio), Mountain Top (Gary Player), and Top of the Rock (Jack Nicklaus). Guests at Angler’s Lodge can also enjoy access to Cedar Creek Spa, Bass Pro Shops Shooting Academy, Top of the Rock, Fun Mountain and nearby Dogwood Canyon nature park.
