Bass Pro Shops Outdoor Days at Table Rock Lake celebrates education through recreational outdoor adventures in the Ozarks

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Table Rock Lake will host the ninth annual Ozarks Outdoor Days event September 10. Outdoor Days are a series of five events throughout Missouri, bringing participants free-of-charge opportunities that are dedicated to the exhilarating world of outdoor recreation. Outdoor Days events are coordinated and sponsored by the Bass Pro Shops Conservation Department in partnership with the United State Army Corps of Engineers, Missouri Department of Conservation, Missouri Department of Natural Resources, and Missouri State Parks.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, September 10 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with the main activity hub being at Table Rock State Park, 5272 MO-165. Activities at this location will include canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding, pontoon boat rides, viewing aquariums, casting ponds, kayak pools, metal detecting, archery, air soft rifle and sling shot ranges, rock climbing, and more.

The Table Rock State Park venue will also host an interactive pre-1840’s mountain man rendezvous encampment along with a Native American culture village. This interactive area will showcase more than 40 authentic campsites featuring more than 30 primitive skills demonstrations; blacksmithing, woodcarving, beading, candle making, quilting, flint knapping, Dutch-oven cooking and baking, flute making and playing, dancing, singing, drumming, storytelling and more.

Wonders of Wildlife will feature live animal programs throughout the day along with offering three birds of prey presentations. “Camo” the Conservation Clown will be interacting with youth and families at Table Rock State Park during event hours and he will host three variety shows.

Musical entertainment will consist of four concerts showcasing national recording artist Liz Moriondo, accompanied by her full band.

On-site concessionaires include Famous Dave’s Legendary Pit Bar-B-Que, CC’s Snow Cones, Cowboy Kettle Corn and Keck’s Longhorn Root Beer.

“We invite everyone to join us! Whether you are a new or expert outdoorsman we will have a wide variety of outdoor exploration opportunities and activity options for all ages, backgrounds and areas of interest to enjoy. Participants can tour the latest in camping gear and learn about new outdoor products and skills to help plan their personal outdoor adventures by visiting the Bass Pro Shops Camping Village. Bass Pro Shops experts along with a multitude of representatives from top outdoor camping manufacturers such as Coleman, North Face, Go Pro, and Lodge will be on hand to give camping tips and advice to help maximize those camping adventures.

The US Army Corps of Engineers will host the second activity area at the Dewey Short Visitor Center located at 4500 MO-165 with six stations emphasizing water safety and hydroelectricity education. Water quality groups will come together to create an interactive village for participants to learn why the conservation effort of cultivating and sustaining one of our most important natural resources is an essential effort.

MDC’s Shepherd of The Hills Hatchery, 483 Hatchery Road, will host the third and last activity area featuring hatchery tours, fishing and fly fishing activities, and fish carving and filleting demonstrations.
