The Outdoor Fund: Making it Easy for Sportsmen and Women to Make a Difference

Sportsmen and women are among the most generous demographics in the world. When it comes to conservation, this generosity has moved mountains.

The Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s Outdoor Fund was created to link the generous spirit of hunters and anglers with the wild creatures and wild places that give so much to us all. In fact, the Fund is perhaps the easiest and most direct manner through which sportsmen and women can support the habitats and heritage that provide the very foundation of hunting and fishing.

Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s customers who “round up for conservation” drive world-changing projects that touch every corner of North America. Each year the Outdoor Fund supports thousands of local, regional, national and international projects. So far in 2021, the Outdoor Fund has provided millions of dollars in support to on the ground conservation projects and groups across the United States and Canada.

Hunters and anglers have been the backbone of conservation since the days of Roosevelt and Audubon. The Outdoor Fund helps keep this tradition alive, creating a direct link to donate to conservation while buying the gear to make the most of your outdoor experiences. Johnny Morris and everyone with the Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s family of outdoor companies are proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with you to make our world a better place.

Outdoor Fund Scope

The Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s Outdoor Fund empowers the work of leading national conservation partners across the spectrum of land, water, and policy. The Outdoor Fund is perhaps the most broadly impactful tool on the conservation landscape. It also showcases the prominent role that hunters and anglers play in conservation.

The Fund supports water quality and habitat work across fresh and saltwater—from Table Rock Lake in Missouri to the Florida Everglades to Bristol Bay in Alaska, among many, many other locations. It supports habitat conservation from the Rocky Mountains to the Great Plains to the Appalachians and beyond. It supports advocacy work that protects our right to hunt and fish, while ensuring the public access necessary to do so.

The Outdoor Fund works with more than 60 national conservation partners. These groups– including Ducks Unlimited, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, National Fish Habitat Partnership, National Wild Turkey Federation, Congressional Sportsmen’s Federation, International Game Fish Association, Boone and Crockett Club, Center for Sportfishing Policy and many, many others—are world leaders in the conservation.

From research into chronic wasting disease, improving habitat in reservoirs across the United States, expanding the range of wild turkeys and quail, and protecting big game migratory corridors in the West, to advocacy work that ensures the future of hunting and fishing can be as storied as its past, the Outdoor Fund makes it easy for sportsmen to make a difference.

We’d like to thank all of our customers who stand alongside us, fighting to make our world a better place. Through the dedicated participation of our customers, the Outdoor Fund is changing the world.
